Monthly Nonprofit Connect

Oct

2019
Fri 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM

Nonprofit organizations are addressing the world's greatest social, environmental and economic challenges. In Pinellas County, the number one capacity-related concern for nonprofits, outside of funding, is organizational relationship and networks, according to a 2018 study conducted by the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg. Nonprofit Connect will be a monthly event designed to connect nonprofit organizations in the St. Petersburg community while driving innovation and sustainability through collaborative content sessions. As the Greenhouse continues to expand our offerings to meet the needs of our clients, we've heard a loud request for more programming specifically crafted for our nonprofit community. The purpose of the Nonprofit Connect: 1. Give nonprofit leaders a place to gather and learn. Provide topics for discussion as well as the opportunity for informal networking. 2. Encourage the inclusion of nonprofit organizations in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of St Petersburg. 3. Strengthen the nonprofit community by encouraging collaboration between organizations and with the government and for-profit sectors. On Friday morning, October 11, we will talk about Technology and Your Organization. We’ve invited some of our area’s tech pros to get the conversation started. No matter what your level of knowledge, this will be a safe place to ask questions about databases, websites, security, apps and more. Each month we have a great turnout of leaders of organizations, large and small. Come prepared for active networking! Please pass this invitation along to other nonprofit leaders. We want to build a full list of the organizations in the city so we can share this and other opportunities. Our facilitator is Merle Benny, a nonprofit consultant, speaker and workshop leader. She is a marketing and communications expert and teaches the Nonprofit Consultants Institute. She is also a 1 Million Cups Organizer, providing opportunities for startups, including nonprofits, to share their story and request assistance. Our guest facilitators will include Erica Woods of Tech4Good and Mark Lombardi Nelson of Shoot to Thrill.
