Art Leadership Forums - Relaxation for the Active Mind: Movement, the Arts and Mindfulness with Danielle DeCosmo The St. Pete Arts Alliance is proud to present Third Thursday Morning Art Leadership Forums! On September 19, singer/songwriter Danielle DeCosmo will discuss how to break out of the stress response, with simple movement, arts and mindfulness practices. Learn how to understand the physiological effects of stress/the fight or flight response and how we respond the same way as we did in early human evolution. Tune into the body and stand mindfully with long tonal humming to slow down the breath and focus the brain. Use music for focusing yet calming the mind and body. Join us as our speaker presents in an informal “Ted Talk” style with plenty of time for Q&A from non-profit and for-profit creative audience members. Speaker(s): Danielle DeCosmo is a Florida born singer songwriter who has been performing professionally since she was 8 years old. Recently, as Program Director for Integrative Arts in Medicine at Tampa General Hospital, she has created and leads workshops for physicians and staff, focusing on burnout prevention and stress management, using her triage of techniques to restore balance and harmony in the mind and body.
